Sweet Florida...
The orange is a Florida icon. It's the sun, the sea, and the tropical breeze all in one. At the Hilton St. Petersburg, the orange is also an experience. We pay homage to the Orange groves that flourished throughout St. Petersburg's history. A bold and confident color pallet surrounds you and an unmistakable crispness is animated through exceptional hospitality. Fresh, ripe oranges are throughout - we encourage you to pick one!
St. Petersburg is home to one of Florida's most dynamic waterfronts, and the Hilton St. Petersburg puts you right at the center of it all. So, peel off a slice of Sweet Florida at the Hilton.
Clearwater Beach is world famous with a four-mile long beach and is one of the largest in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area. A favorite among tourists, in addition to great swimming it offers parasailing, jet skiing and catamaran sailing. There are excellent restaurants, many with outdoor dining providing front row seating for the fabulous sunsets. Daily sunset celebrations at Pier 60 featuring arts, crafts and music attract many visitors.
There are two gardens worth visiting, one of which is the Sunken Gardens, St. Petersburg’s oldest living museum at more than 100 years old, featuring 50,000 tropical plants and flowers. The other is Kupsick Palm Arboretum which features 500 palms and cycades representing 73 species.
Regardless of where you’re from, you’ll find a favorite sports team during Florida’s spring training baseball season. The Tampa Devil Rays work out in St. Petersburg and move their game to the air-conditioned comfort of Tropicana Field. Located in downtown St. Petersburg, the white dome is easily seen during the day but more recognizable in the evening when it turns Tropicana orange.
St. Petersburg - known fondly by the locals as “The Sunshine City” - offers visitors a curious paradox: “An upscale arts community and a statement in Mediterranean architecture in a beach-town setting.” Azure blue waters naturally define this peninsular city that was originally developed a century ago for tourists and snowbirds.
