If These Walls Could Talk...

The Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza is a 300-year old story, vividly retold to each and every guest. The original structure, a hacienda, was home to the Ortiz family, one of the most prominent of Santa Fe's first families. Civic debate and business deals played out alongside the passing Ortiz generations. When the hacienda finally passed out of the family in the late 1800's, Santa Fe was still a frontier town, and the colorful stories that were told here continued.

In 1973, the site was acquired and carefully restored by the Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza. Today, the story continues... the history, romance and intrigue now given over to exceptional comfort and professional service.

Nestled between two mountain ranges and surrounded by national forests, parks, monuments, and unparalleled natural beauty, Santa Fe is the ideal jumping off point for the outdoor enthusiast. Activities include traditional pastimes of golf, tennis and hiking to the more extreme white water rafting and hot air ballooning.

Santa Fe has long been celebrated for its appreciation of theatre, music and dance. Galleries and museums abound and Native American pueblos offer a glimpse into the cultural and artistic origins of the region. From the world renowned Santa Fe Opera to contemporary concerts, flamenco to ballet and most anything in between, Santa Fe is sure to have an event that will satisfy your aesthetic tastes.

The Plaza is the gateway to the community of Santa Fe. It is the heart of both a genuine culture and tourist kitsch. From one point of view, the Plaza is a theme park, one big drive-up window for everything stereotypically southwestern - a giant adobe art mall. From another point of view, it is a communal well that has sustained both the spirit and the commerce of an isolated trading village for almost 400 years.

The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum has welcomed more than 1,300,000 visitors from all over the world. Throughout the year, visitors can see a changing selection of at least 50 of these works. In addition, the Museum presents special exhibitions that are either devoted entirely to O'Keeffe's work or that combine examples of her art with works by her American modernist contemporaries.
